Otherside es una canción de los Red Hot Chilli Peppers que me encanta. Es el tercer sencillo del album Californication que se estreno en el año 2000, de alguna manera rinde tributo al exmiembro de la banda Hillel Slovak, quien murió de sobredosis de heroína.
Como dije, Otherside es una canción que me encanta, sin embargo, no había tenido la oportunidad de ver el video.
Me late mucho cuando un artista muestra interés en diversas áreas. En “Can’t Stop” hicieron referencia al Arte Abstracto de Erwin Wurm y en esta ocasión, el video hace referencias a los inicios de la la historia del Cine. Específicamente al Expresionismo Alemán.
Otherside me recuerda muchísimo al “Gabinete del Doctor Caligari” pero con algo de cubismo en vez de las figuras ondulantes (que seguro influenciaron a Tim Burton) también noté algo de los Hermanos Melia y de M. C. Escher.
Además, es un círculo perfecto. El vídeo termina exactamente donde comenzó
